Asmussen is the founder and proprietor of Asmussen Horse Center in Laredo, Texas. His family-run facility has faithfully served the equine industry both domestically and internationally for over 40 years. Graduates from their program at El Primero Training Center include: 9 millionaires, 3 champions, and 42 graded-stakes performers. Keith has dedicated his life to racing and is an obvious lover of horses. To this day he is still the first man on each of the young horses at his training center. Keith’s father raced horses and his mother ran their tack shop until her death a few years ago. His wife, Marilyn, heads the sales division and his two sons have each earned Eclipse Awards.

The Adirondack Mountain Writers’ Retreat is now accepting registrations for its 2009 program, to be held August 20-23. Author/teacher/poet Irene Sherlock will lead a four-day writing workshop for those writing fiction, memoir or personal essay.
