Saratoga Springs, New York-The Saratoga Springs’ Downtown Business Association has announced that the eighth annual Fall Festival will take place on Saturday, October 31st and Sunday, November 1st, 2009. The Festival, a celebration of Autumn flavors, activities and the Saratoga community spirit, will kick off on Halloween morning at 10AM at the Farmers’ Market and continue throughout the day and all day Sunday, also. The event will take place throughout downtown Saratoga Springs, including the west side-Beekman Street Arts District.

Among the highlights of this year’s Fall Festival will be magic shows, pumpkin races), face painting, costume parade, trick-of-treating, carousel rides, pumpkin races, petting zoo, pony rides, musical performances and other children- and family-oriented activities. LAKE GEORGE , NY (October 12, 2009): Adirondack Winery is proud to announce that six of its hand-crafted wines earned medals at the 2009 World Value Wine Challenge.

The World Value Wine Challenge (“WVWC”); which took place in August 2009 and was put on by the Beverage Testing Institute, is recognized as the nation’s most comprehensive competition for wines $20 and under. With value on the top of everyone’s mind in this recession, this year’s competition was steep for wineries and drew much attention.

Adirondack Winery President, Sasha Pardy said, “Adirondack Winery is pleased to provide its customers not only with great wines, but good value, as the vast majority of its 35+ wine varieties are priced at $20 or less.”

Saratoga Springs, NY… The fifth annual Adirondack Trust Allegiance Bowl featuring sprint football teams from Army and Mansfield University will be held on Saturday, October 17 at the Saratoga Springs High School. Meeting for the first time ever, the Cadets of West Point and the Mountaineers of Mansfield will compete in a sanctioned Collegiate Sprint Football League contest with proceeds from the event to benefit the Saratoga Youth Hockey and Figure Skating programs.

The bowl game’s opening ceremonies will include a flyover of vintage WWII era aircraft, a spectacular stadium jump by the Army Black Knights Parachute team, and a performance by the Skidmore College Sonneteers singing group. The halftime show will feature the 200 member Mansfield University marching band. Known as “The Pride and the Spirit of Pennsylvania”, the corps style band will present a 20 minute musical tribute to jazz great Chuck Mangione. [...]
