The Children’s Museum at Saratoga is thrilled to announce the first Saratoga Earth Day Festival on Saturday April 17, 2010. Designed to celebrate nature and educate families about sustainability, the festival will kickoff at The Children’s Museum at 9:30am. Meet at The Children’s Museum at Saratoga on 69 Caroline Street at 9:30 am for the festival kickoff and to ride a bus together to the Farmer’s Market.

After enjoying children’s activities and shopping for local food, the bus will return to the museum where we’ll enjoy the food we’ve purchased directly from farmers. Afternoon events will be held in High Rock Park from 12:30-4 rain or shine.

Highlights of the afternoon activities include art, music, games, local authors and workshops on composting, springs history and natural paper-making. [...]

For two evenings only, May 21-22, the Corinth Theater Guild, under the direction of Fran Williams will perform “A Perfect Wedding” at the Saratoga Knights of Columbus located at 50 Pine Street in Saratoga Springs, NY. All proceeds will benefit Gateway House of Peace and their effort to build an end of life care support home for Saratoga County.

Battle Of The Bands At SPAC

SARATOGA SPRINGS NY — Don’t miss SPAC’s first ever Battle of the Bands competition on Friday, May 21 at 6 PM at The Spa Little Theatre.

The winning band will receive a prize package, including a professionally recorded 5-song EP from The Recording Company, airplay on local radio station WEQX, 100 custom t-shirts and 1,000 custom stickers from Saratoga Statement, and for additional publicity, the winning band will also be listed on the SPAC Website through December 31, 2010.

Judges for the Battle of the Bands competition at SPAC include Debbie Gabrione, guitarist and spirited lead singer of Ten Year Vamp, Matt Baumgartner, owner of Bombers restaurants, as well as the tell-it-like-it-is blogger at Fridaypuppy.com, Jason Irwin, host of the award-winning local music show EQX-Posure! And a few other judges TBA!

Saratoga Springs, NY, April 6, 2010– Stella’s of Saratoga is celebrating its grand opening April 9th with a cocktail party from 5pm-8pm, and an all day event April 10th. $5 raffle tickets will be available for purchase for a chance at winning a pair of Jack Rogers sandals. All proceeds benefit Saratoga Bridges.

Saratoga Bridges is a non-profit organization in Saratoga Springs that assists disabled adults to live productive lives. Stella’s owner Laura Farrar believes it is important to donate to Saratoga Bridges because “it is a great local organization, and the money will directly benefit people in Saratoga.”

Friday night’s entertainment is singer Chantal Kurchner, and Saturday’s performer is guitar and vocalist Rich Ortiz. LAKE GEORGE, NY (April 5, 2010): Not only is Adirondack Winery celebrating its second Anniversary this month, but it is also pleased to announce that three of its wines won awards at the recently-held 2010 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition.

Adirondack Winery’s Cabernet Franc took a Silver Medal at the Competition, while its Rocky Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc took home Bronze Medals.

“We couldn’t be happier that the milestone of completing our second successful year in business has also been met with news of three of our wines earning medals. To date, 10 of our wines have won medals, even though we have entered only a handful of competitions.
