Hope For Kiran is latest Saratoga Springs-based “mommy” group initiative
Malta, NY June 8, 2011: The Malta Drive-In Market announced local “mommy” group, the Toga Tots, will help a local 3-year old battle a rare form of cancer via the Malta Drive-In Market’s Community Works! program.
Kiran Vivekanand, 3 years old, has recently been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer, Glioblastma Multiforme (GBM), located in the brain. “He is currently getting radiation therapy to help improve the symptoms and help shrink the tumor to slow the progression of growth”, said Toga Tots organizer Susan Bergman. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York (June 1, 2011) – With gas prices hitting $4.00 per gallon in May, Saratoga Casino and Raceway knew exactly what people wanted. In response, the casino gave away over $20,000 worth of gift cards for gas during the month- amounting to over 5,000 gallons of gas.
During the Tanker of Gas Giveaway, which ran every Friday in May, over 40 winners went home with gas money in their pockets. Every week, one winner left with a “year’s supply of gas” in the form of a $2,500 gift card and 10 others went home with $250 gift cards.
“The promotion was incredibly popular,” said Rita Cox, Senior Vice President of Marketing and External Affairs. “Even with gas prices finally dropping, people are still [...]

ALBANY, NY – The Language Learning Institute has opened a new educational center in Saratoga to help adults and children learn French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
“We want to bring the love of language to as many people as possible,” said Nancy Scarselletta, the school’s founder. “While we have always been proud of our Albany base, we realize it is not convenient for everyone. With our arrival in Saratoga we will be able to help many more people learn new languages and cultures. ”
The Language Learning Institute has been helping children and adults interested in learning French since it was founded in 2006. A few months after its establishment in 2006, Italian language classes became available as well at its Albany location. Since then the [...]

Scallions Restaurant generously donated a portion from every diner’s bill that ate at their establishment on May 18 to Saratoga Bridges. Scallion’s instituted this program to support area non-profit organizations as an easy way to enjoy a delicious dinner while contributing to a great cause. </p
Saratoga Bridges’ Executive Director Valerie Muratori stated, “We are so appreciative to Scallions and its’ owner Michele Morris for being a supportive community partner. Unlike in any recent year, the cuts to our budget are extremely significant. As the fiscal realities facing New York State continue, we are very concerned as to how this will impact our programs. Since we are dependent upon state and federal funds, we need to secure donations more than ever before to assist and protect services for 800 individuals with developmental [...]
