The Saratoga Gaming and Raceway Foundation is pleased to announce that the 2011 grant program is now underway. The Foundation began accepting applications on September 6th, and will continue to accept applications until October 18th. The awards are given at the November County Board of Supervisors regular meeting in Ballston Spa.

For 2011, the Foundation will have $30,000 in grant monies available for applicants. The monies are a combination between funds donated by Saratoga Gaming and Raceway, and the Saratoga Harness Horseperson’s Association, The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors administers the grants.

Saratoga Springs, NY… The organizing committee for the annual Adirondack Trust Allegiance Bowl has just announced that Apollo 11 astronaut Dr. Buzz Aldrin, pilot of the first manned mission to the Moon, will attend the event and participate in the pre-game ceremonies. The game will be held on September 17, 2011 in Saratoga Springs. Dr. Aldrin is also the Honorary Chair of the 2011 Adirondack Trust Allegiance Bowl.

Dr. Aldrin will present the American Flag which has flown over the U.S. Capital and brought to the game via the Saratoga Skydivers parachute team. He will also officiate the ceremonial pre-game coin toss.

Saratoga Bridges receives $30,000 Wright Family Foundation, Inc. grant

Saratoga Bridges received a very generous grant of $30,000 from The Wright Family Foundation, Inc. to erect The Wright Family Foundation Pavilion at their Wilton Day Habilitation Program, located at 690 Route 9 in Gansevoort, NY. Since this item is not funded by traditional funding sources, this grant is especially welcome to them.

The Wright Family Foundation Pavilion will meet the needs of the 140 individuals who spend their day at this program site. The sheltered area will allow the participants a chance to experience and enjoy the natural surroundings of the property without concern for insects, precipitation or temperature.
