SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York (December 15, 2011) – During the summer of 2011, Saratoga Casino and Raceway launched a brand new philanthropy program, “Party for a Cause”. Due to its success and popularity, the program will return in 2012 with seven charitable organizations to be selected.

“Party for a Cause” was originally offered to five charities on consecutive Thursday nights, beginning in July of 2011. It has been expanded for 2012 to include seven nights, allowing for two additional 501c3 organizations to participate. The program will begin July 19 and run each Thursday through August 30.

Saratoga Springs, NY (December 7, 2011) – Saratoga Casino and Raceway donated a total of $125,000 to 32 local organizations last night during the 7th Annual Make a Difference Charity
Event. The event included remarks by the casino’s Vice President of External Affairs, Skip Carlson and Senior Vice President of Marketing, Rita Cox. Donations of $2,500 up to $10,000 were presented by Guest Co-Host, Mark Mulholland of WNYT.

Local food pantries and soup kitchens rely primarily on the generosity of individuals and business owners in the community. The Saratoga County EOC (Economic Opportunity Council) food pantry and soup kitchen, has forged a unique relationship with many of the area farmers.For the last 4 years, Mikki Bakken, Community Services Advocate of the EOC, arrives every Wednesday of the outdoor season at the Saratoga Farmers’ Market with an empty vehicle and leaves with a bounty of donated food.
