This summer, the Adirondack Theatre Festival, our region's top professional theatre company presents an entertianing collections of shows. Professional actors and artists from New York City and across the country take to the Wood Theater stage in downtown Glens Falls for an exciting season of new and contemporary plays and musicals.

In 1968, songwriter John Meyer met Judy Garland. Share the true story of how he fell in love with a star whose flame was dying, and how he attempted to rescue her from her self-destructive demons. Featuring some of Garland's most memorable songs, Heartbreaker stars four-time Tony nominee Christine Andreas as the tarnished icon whose personal troubles threatened to swamp her extraordinary talent.

avid Finch impressed audiences last summer with his multi-instrumental talents in ATF's hit production of Woody Sez. From the guitar to the banjo and even the spoons, David had toes-a-tapping. This summer he returns to ATF for an acoustic cabaret act certain to delight. The evening will feature songs from some of the artists who influenced him as well as some of his own songs.

The heart of ATF's mission is the development of new plays and musicals. Each summer the company selects and presents a reading of a new work. The process allows audiences not only a glimpse into the creative process, but also a chance to participate actively in the creation of the play through participating in a post-show conversation with the playwright.

From 1915 to 1946 Georgia O'Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz wrote over 5,000 letters to one another. Their correspondence captures the passion, conflict, and deep love of art that permeated their lives together as acquaintances, lovers, and eventually husband and wife.
