Of all the things that attracts people to Saratoga Springs, the cab service
here in town isn't one of them.
My car is currently off the road and even though I can walk or ride my bike around
Saratoga there are times when I need a cab. Luckily, for me I don't need a cab very often.
Today I waited for a cab for almost a half an hour, for what reason I would have to wait so long
leaves me rather befuddled since racing season is clearly over and its not a holiday or even a weekend. Its Monday, and there is NOTHING going on in town.
After waiting 20 minutes I called the cab company (CAPITAL LAND) to see if it would be much longer, the dispatcher seemed surprised that my cab had not yet arrived. She assured me it wouldn't be much longer.
After several minutes the cab finally arrived but I was already late and rather annoyed. The driver then proceeded to drive under the speed limit and took his sweet ass time getting me to my destination. At one point we were going 18 MPH!! It also appeared that he had his girlfriend riding in the front seat next to him. Initially I believed her to be another passenger but the conversation suggested otherwise.
I then did something that I almost never do, I left a crappy tip when I finally arrived to my destination and vowed never to take CAPITALAND taxi ever again.
Saratoga has always had notoriously bad Taxi service but this is ridiculous.
