Jobs in 2011!

The New Year is upon us and the job market is still shifting very slowly, New York has a new Governor, the HIRE ACT has expired and the the first snow fall has melted away.

The December employment rates for New York State have not been released yet, but November followed the previous month's statistics.  700 private sector jobs were created and the Unemployment rate was steady at 8.3%.  With the holidays past us, many people are again looking for work.  The fight for a job will still be trying and persistence is still the key.

The next couple of weeks will begin to tell the tale of employment in the Toga-Adk region!  As I scour the various job advertisements, I have noticed a slight increase in positions available.

This time of the year brings forth the tax season.  So the most available jobs with be in the Accounting field and of course Tax Preparation.

The Nursing Field might be another avenue to explore.  Most hospitals and doctor offices are still hiring and some of the more experienced people in this field might take jobs in the Global Foundries project, leaving a shortage at the local level!

Up next a look at the HIRE ACT of 2010!
