2026 Albany Memorial Day Parade

• Date: Monday, May 25, 2026
• Kickoff Time: 9:30 AM
• Start Location: Corner of Lexington Avenue and Central Avenue
• Parade Route: Eastward along Central Avenue, concluding at the steps of the New York State Education Building (which will serve as the reviewing stand).

Ceremony of Remembrance

Parade services will be held immediately following the procession at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Lafayette Park.

Inclement Weather Plan: If the parade is cancelled due to weather, the Ceremony of Remembrance will be held at 10:00 AM in the Albany City Hall Atrium. ADA access will be available at the Corning Street entrance to City Hall.

Traffic and Logistics (5:00 AM - 12:00 PM)

Please be aware of significant parking restrictions and road closures throughout the morning to accommodate the parade route and ceremony.

No Parking Zones (5:00 AM - 12:00 PM)

• Central Avenue: Both sides from Quail Street to Lark Street.
• Central Avenue – Lot 4: (Corner of Central Avenue and Lexington Avenue) Reserved entirely for parade event vehicles.
• Washington Avenue: Both sides from Lark Street to State Street/Eagle Street.
• Elk Street: South side from Eagle Street west to N. Hawk Street (for the Lafayette Park event); North side from Eagle Street west to S. Swan Street.
• Side Streets (Both Sides): N. Lake Avenue, Robin Street, and Lexington Avenue (all between Bradford Street and Sherman Street); Dove Street (Elk Street to Spring Street); S. Swan Street (State Street to Elk Street).
• Other Restrictions: N. Hawk Street (East side from Washington Avenue to Elk Street); Eagle Street (Both sides from State Street to Pine Street).

Road Closures (7:30 AM - 12:00 PM)

The following streets will be closed to all traffic during the event:

• Central Avenue (between Quail Street and Washington Avenue)
• Washington Avenue (between Central Avenue and State Street/Eagle Street)
• Connecting Routes: Henry Johnson Boulevard (Sheridan Avenue to Washington Avenue) and Lark Street (Elk Street to State Street).
• Local Cross Streets: N. Lake Avenue, Robin Street, Lexington Avenue (all between Bradford and Sherman); Dove Street (Elk to Spring); S. Swan Street (State to Elk); N. Hawk Street (Washington to Elk); Eagle Street (State to Pine); and Corning Place (closed at Eagle Street).
