2013 Cabin Fever Luncheon

The annual Cabin Fever Luncheon put on by the Soroptimist International of Saratoga County (SISC) is the winter event not to miss. The money raised from these events helps fund our awards programs, service projects, and grants to the community.

 

The 2013 speaker, Katherine Rosman, is a feature reporter for the Wall Street Journal who writes about the many ways technology intersects with everyday life. Katie also created the Journal's popular syndicated column, 'Checks & Balances,' which focused on how Katie and her husband contended with issues of money and other important resources (like time and sleep and the positioning of the thermostat in winter).

 

She now writes the "Katie Does Yoga With ..." column, the reporting of which has led her to find great spiritual enlightenment and to do a headstand in Deepak Chopra's apartment.  

 

Katie is the author of 'If You Knew Suzy,' a memoir that chronicles the year she took off from the Wall Street Journal in order to report on the surprisingly epic life of a woman Katie knew only as "mom."

 

She got her start in journalism when she was hired as the assistant to Elaina Richardson -- now the president of Yaddo, then the editor of Elle magazine.
