“Get smART” is the 2016 theme for Kids’ Arts Festival, scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. June 4 on the streets around City hall and the pedestrian mall on Jay Street.
In addition to our tried and true arts and crafts activities, we’ll have a focus on inventions and celebrate the rich history of inventors in Schenectady. For example, did you know Silly Putty was invented in our county?
The Kids’ Arts Festival started in 1994 to provide an outdoor arts festival in downtown Schenectady for pre-school and school-age children. Thousands of children of all incomes and backgrounds participate in hands-on arts activities that are both fun and promote sound visual education principles. Located around Schenectady City Hall on Jay and Franklin Streets, the festival also features live musical performances by professionals and students. Rain location is City Hall.
This event is brought to you by the ElectriCity Arts District and many volunteer groups and individual and corporate donors. Almost all of the festival activities are free to the public.
Event times and information subject to change and not guaranteed.
