We’ve all heard how important family is to our health but what about friends? Well, the research results are in and they show that having a network of good friends can really help increase our longevity. And, it’s not the number of friends that is beneficial, rather it’s the fact that we have them, that’s so important.
Being socially active can reduce our risk of chronic disease because it lowers blood pressure, heart rate and cholesterol. Friendships can help reduce stress-inducing hormones which will allow us to lead a more rejuvenated, enjoyable life and avoid premature aging.
We’re not talking about online friends either. Truly, it’s the personal interaction and physically being there for each other that is so important.
So, give yourself the gift of good health by hanging out and enjoying time with your friends!
