Don't Miss Hats Off Weekend In Saratoga Springs!

The Hats Off To Saratoga Festival is the highlight of opening weekend at Saratoga Race Course. Track-goers and Saratoga Springs residents look forward to a weekend that is jam packed with special events, live music and entertainment!

The Festival kicks off on Friday, July 31, 2009 – one of two sunset racing days at the track this year – featuring The Lake George. Click here for the 2009 racing schedule. The festival runs all weekend long, concluding with the annual Saratoga Hat Contest on Sunday, August 2, 2009.

The Hats Off Music Festival will enliven Broadway on Friday and Saturday in downtown Saratoga Springs, featuring an array of local and national artists. Music styles range from jazz, rock, classical, a cappella and more.

The excitement continues on Saturday with the Diana Handicap and Jim Dandy. Sunday features the The Go For Wand Handicap and the 25th running of The Fourstardave Handicap.

Sunday is also hat day at the Track, one of the much anticipated giveaway days each season. Visitors will receive a ball cap with paid admission. The annual Saratoga Hat Contest wraps up the weekend on Sunday with prizes awarded to hat wearers in three categories: Uniquely Saratoga, Fashionably Saratoga and Kreative Kids. You can register for the contest under the Grandstand, beginning at noon on Sunday. Hats are a long-standing tradition in Saratoga Springs.
