Saratoga Springs, NY -- It's that time of year again... colorful leaves, brisk windy days, apple picking trips and... pink hair extensions?
It's true! October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and many salons in the area offer pink hair extensions so you can show your support in a fashionable, eye-catching way. Pink hair extensions are being offered for the entire month of October.
The proceeds from your donation go toward the fight against breast cancer, so while you are keeping in step with the latest trend and outwardly showing your support, your money is also going to help out this great cause!
Hair salons have a suggested donation amount per extension, but you can, of course, choose to donate even more if you would like.
The typical suggested donation seems to be just $10 per extension. (Note: This low price is for hair extensions, which are added into your hair, not pink streaks or highlights of your normal hair, for which the price would be higher.)
These pink hair extensions last about four to six weeks, or you can have them removed sooner, if you prefer. They are made from real hair and can be washed and styled as you would your normal hair. (Exception: if the extensions are bonded in, clamped or glued, special care is needed to ensure they last.)
Here is a list of area salons we have confirmed will be offering pink extensions this year:
Appointments are suggested.
"Pink hair extensions are fun, and it's for a great cause," said Blake Budnik from Fresh & Co in Saratoga Springs. "Plus, it's fast. It takes only 5 minutes to put in your hair!"
"The pink extensions are available in all shades of pink,"
said Glenn Guerriero of Brooklyn Attitude Hair & Body, another Saratoga salon who is offering the pink hair extensions this month. "There is very soft pink all the way to hot pink, and you get to choose the exact color shade you want."
Whether you are young or old, male or female, pink hair extensions are a fun way to show your support for a great cause and join in the fight against breast cancer. So make an appointment to get yours today!
