SARATOGA SPRINGS NY – Winterfest is a popular annual event in Saratoga Springs, bringing the spirit of winter to the Spa City with a weekend of live music, special events, great entertainment–and, of course, Chowderfest! Winterfest 2010 runs the weekend of February 5th-7th. Friday, February 5th marks the beginning of the festival and the weekend kicks off with Winterfest Wine Tasting at the Saratoga Holiday Inn! Sample selections of different wines and explore the pairing of wines and hors d'oeuvres offered to you.
Saturday, February 6th: Chowderfest makes the chilly winter air seem just a touch warmer as you visit area restaurants to sample cups of chowder. This community program is organized by the Saratoga Convention and Tourism Bureau. Collect your voting ballot from any participating establishment, and then head to the downtown restaurants for some delicious, steaming chowder. Try as many as you’d like, and cast a vote for your favorite! When complete, drop your ballot off at the Saratoga County Arts Council & the Saratoga Springs Visitor Center.
Saturday evening is a night dedicated to partying for a good cause at the Bartender’s Ball, the annual Fundraiser Dinner Dance! Sponsored by the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce and Domestic Violence Services of Saratoga.
Sunday, February 7: Winterfest concludes with the annual Saratoga Spa Winterfest 5K Snowshoe Race in Saratoga Spa State Park. Snowshoe, walkers and runners welcome! Nonparticipants are welcome to watch and cheer as athletes in snowshoes compete in a race through the snow! Note: In the event that there is no snow, there will still be a trail race.
