Open House Job Fairs Planned For 2011 Saratoga Racing Season

Interested in a job at the Saratoga Race Track this summer? Each summer, there are various positions to apply for at the Saratoga Race Course. NYRA holds several open house job fairs to interview candidates and fill these positions in Saratoga. You must be at least 16 years old to apply, with working papers and photo ID.

Race Course Job Fairs

Interviews for the 2011 Racing Season (7/22 - 9/5) will be held at the Carousel near the East Avenue Gate on:

• Friday, June 17 (2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.)
• Saturday, June 18 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
• Saturday, July 9 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
• Sunday, July 10 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

Positions will be available for: Turf work, General labor, Betting Clerks (weekends only), Security, Ushers (white caps), Parking Attendents, Cashiers, Food Service Helpers, Barbacks and Porters, Cooks and Prep Cooks, and Giveaway Helpers.

Interviews for employment at Shake Shack, Blue Smoke and The Paddock Bar will be held at the July job fairs only.

What To Bring

• driver’s license (must be at least 16 years old to apply)
• state ID
• passport
• birth certificate
• right-to-work visa
• To apply for mutuals you must be at least 18 years old and bring resume

Where To Go

All job fairs will be held in the Racing Office at the Saratoga Race Course on Union Avenue in Saratoga Springs. Enter through the main gate on Union Avenue and East Avenue. From there, make your way over to the paddock mutuel bay with the other applicants. You should be well dressed and prepared for an interview.
