The Saratoga Traveler: Day Trips, Weekend Getaways & Hidden Gems

Whose Ready to Go?

The weather here has been so great lately that it makes me want to grab my camping gear and go! Unfortunately all the campgrounds nearby are closed for the season. So I'm left with sitting at home, staring at all the amazing places to camp and planning.

I know soon that there will snow covering the ground in inches and feet but right now all I can think about is sitting around a camp fire, cooking outdoors and fishing.

I guess we could pack up and head south to an open all year campground, but I don't have that much time off. I guess I could start a fire in my fire pit in the back yard, but it's just not the same.

Does this weather make you want to pack up and take a road trip? Do you feel like you just need to get away and explore? Share with me some of your favorite places to get away in and around Saratoga Springs and I'll feature them in the blog.

Until them I'll be planning my next get away or road trip.....maybe I'll explore some of the small towns nearby. Sound good?

Moved to Saratoga from St Louis MO (home of The Gateway Arch, Baseball Cardinals and of course Anheuser-Busch) with my family for my husband's job. In the last 2 1/2 years we've had the opportunity to explore and discover day trips, hidden gems, along with some of the most beautiful, historic, interesting and curious places in New England. So come with me and look through a Midwesterner's eyes at Saratoga and beyond. I hope you enjoy your adventures and feel free to share yours and together we can feed our travel bug!
