If you have watched “The Biggest Loser” at all this season, you know the theme was “no excuses”. It is a rainy day here in Saratoga Springs, but that shouldn’t stop you from getting active. My athlete friends who are serious about their training still make it outdoors, even on a day like today, but walking around in wet sneakers does not sound fun to me.
There are so many great options in our city on a day like today. Why not pop into one of the fabulous studios in town that offer classes indoors? Most of them do not require a membership and you can “pay as you go” instead. Whenever I try something for the first time, I always try to convince a friend or my husband to go along with me.
You can also make a great circuit workout right in your own home. Each exercise should be about 3-5 minutes of work followed by 30-60 seconds of recovery. Start with jogging in place or some jumping jacks. Follow that by lunges, squats, over-head presses (canned goods work great!), push-ups, planks and end with a cool down and stretch.
Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.

I just moved back here from SC. I use to do yoga and pilaties back in SC. I live in Clifton Park. I would like to start some type of excerising. There is a gym close to where I live but it does not offer any classes. I would love some ideals. I feel so out of shape since I moved here. Please help. Thanks, Debbie Reynolds
Hi Debbie,
Thanks so much for your comment and welcome back to Saratoga! Downtown Saratoga Springs has lots of great class options! I own the Saratoga Cycling Studio, LLC, which offers spin classes with no obligation. You can sign up online at saratogacyclingstudio.com. Also, there are pilates and yoga studios right in town. Saratoga Boot Camp is also a great way to get in some activities.
I hope this helps!
