Inspired by all of my facebook friends who are currently stating what they are thankful for this month, I have started my own November trend…NO excuses!
We have all made excuses as to why we aren’t caring for ourselves the best that we can. A few areas that could be getting neglected are: sleep, fitness, diet, relaxation, and overall mental well-being.
My challenge to you is to try to tackle any area of your life that is being neglected by making changes and not excuses. Sure, we are all busy and we have to make choices sometimes between one thing or another, therefore, sacrificing one important area of our lives. But, each decision leaves you the chance to start over and be successful.
Some common excuses I hear at my fitness studio:
I am just too tired to work out.
My response: Working out will give you more energy over time!
I don’t have the time to make it to class.
My response: If you have one hour to sit in front of the television, you surely can find one hour to be active. You deserve that hour!
I can’t afford to get healthy.
My response: You don’t need a gym membership to get fit. Walking, running, and home workouts can get you moving. Cut coupons and shop around when it comes to stocking your fridge and pantry. Meal planning will make your budget stretch also.
I am so stressed that I can’t sleep.
My response: Deep breathing exercises may help. Lavender oil has been proven to have a calming effect. Try a few drops on your pillow tonight. You may want to seek out someone to talk to if things get too overwhelming.
I know we can all relate to some of these excuses, but let’s challenge ourselves to NOT make them this November!
In good health!
What’s your excuse?
