Strong cold front brings severe thunderstorms this afternoon

A strong cold front and associated potent upper level air disturbance will push through the region today and spark off a round of strong to severe thunderstorms from mid to late afternoon. Some of the storms could contain large hail and damaging winds, and because of this threat, the Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire region in a "Slight Risk" for severe weather today.
