About the band:
- Although the Queensbury quartet only formed six months ago, they’ve already generated quite a bit of buzz and have been compared to bands like Franz Ferdinand and Hot Hot Heat. The indie pop/rock outfit’s music has been influenced by groups such as The Smiths, Radiohead, The Pixies, Brand New and Gatsbys American Dream.
- The band has received airplay on 102.7, 103.1, 100.3, 90.9 and 91.5 and shared the stage with well-known acts such as ActionReaction and Sick Puppies.
- From June 28 to July 11, the group will be touring the East Coast with The Loyalty. Before they hit the road, Prima will shoot a couple of music videos.
- In August, Prima will enter the studio to record their first EP with producer John Naclerio, who’s previously worked with artists including My Chemical Romance, Matchbook Romance and Lawrence Arms. The band hopes to have the EP out by October.
- Prima is playing an all ages show at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Revolution Hall in Troy with Rooney and The Loyalty. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.
