Ever since Ralph Weaver opened the D-Line Pub, located at 15 Prospect St. in Ballston Spa, he’s had many fundraisers and benefits for kids and people like Cayden.
Weaver’s holding an event this weekend for Cayden and his familiy.
People can buy raffle tickets for a variety of gifts, like a flat screen television, tools, a basket of liquor and a DVD player until 4 p.m. this Sunday, Dec. 23. The total of all the gifts is about $2,000.
“There are some nice gifts out there,” Weaver said.
Weaver said the raffle will be at 5 p.m., but the pub will be closed for a private party.
Weaver said the community another opportunity to help out a local family. The money raised from the raffle will go towards the food for the dinner scheduled for January 19 at the Ballston Spa Elks Club.
Cayden Wahlen, a 3-year-old boy, was diagnosed with leukemia in September.
For the January dinner an Anthony Weaver autographed football jersey and also Mario Williams’s jersey will be raffled off. There will be an autographed guitar by Anthony Weaver raffled off, as well as 50/50 and other prizes.
Ralph Weaver’s son, Anthony and Mario Williams, play for the Houston Texans football team.
Weaver said he has a lot of volunteers helping out with all the events he’s done and said he couldn’t do it without them.
The dinner on January 19 will cost $12 for adults.
