Jean C. Ernst

Saratoga Springs, NY - Jean C. Ernst passed away Sunday (March 16, 2008) at St. Lucie Medical Center in Florida. She was 83.

Born on September 14, 1924 in Saratoga Springs, NY, she is the daughter of the late John “Bullet” and Elizabeth (Longo) Dominick and was a graduate of the former St. Peter’s Academy on Broadway and the Austin Beauty School. She owned and operated her own beauty shop for many years in Saratoga Springs and was a communicant of the Church of St. Peter.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Joseph W. Ernst Jr., who died on Feb. 14, 2006 and one sister, Catherine Carbone.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, John J. and Jackie Ernst of Gansevoort, NY; one daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Bill Kicker of Port St. Lucie, FL; five grandchildren, Nick and Elizabeth Ernst, Sean and Shane Kicker, Kristen Lehl and four great-grandchildren, Riley, McKenzie, Evan and Aiden Kicker.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday (Mar. 27,2008) in the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, by the Rev. Dominic S. Ingemie, pastor.

Burial followed in the family plot at St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Ave.

Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, New York 12211.
