Top ten students at Saratoga High School

Mr. Frank P. Crowley, Principal of Saratoga Springs High School, announced that Kenneth Hammond, son of William Hammond and Margaret Gallien of 53 Lincoln Avenue, Saratoga Springs, has been named Valedictorian of the Class of 2008 and that Jeffrey Pawlick, son of David and Judy Pawlick of 66 Hearthstone Drive, Gansevoort, has been named the Salutatorian at Saratoga Springs High School.

Kenneth has been a member of the Cross Country, Indoor Track and Track and Field Teams while attending Saratoga Springs High School. He is planning to attend Harvard University where he will pursue a career in alternative energy research.

Jeffrey has been a member of the Chamber Orchestra, National Honor Society, Captain of the Science Bowl Team and a member of the Boys Varsity Baseball and Football Teams. Jeffrey is planning to attend University of Notre Dame where he will pursue a career in engineering.

The following comprise the remainder of the top ten students in the Class of 2008:

Duncan Boehle, son of Mark and Lisa Boehle of 2823 State Route 29, Greenwich. Duncan has been a member of the National Honor Society, Schwa Capella Group, Thespian Honor Society, Ultimate Frisbee Club and Co-captain of the Science Bowl Team. He will attend Carnegie Mellon University.

Ariana Vacs Renwick, daughter of Aldo Vacs and Trudi Renwick of 29 Hyde Street, Saratoga Springs. Ariana has been a member of the Independent Filmmaker’s Club, National Honor Society and Editor-in-Chief of the Yearbook. She will attend Dartmouth College.

Angelica D’Aiello, daughter of David D’Aiello and Claire Tarantino of 8 Ferndell Spring Drive, Saratoga Springs. Angelica has been a member of Chamber Orchestra, Leo Club and the National Honor Society. She will attend Colby College.

Lara Bryfonski, daughter of John Bryfonski and Bonnie Weiler of 50 Cobble Hill Drive, Wilton. Lara has been a member of the Independent Filmmakers Club, Ski Club, National Honor Society, Jazz Band and President of Drama Club. She will attend Boston University.

Joseph Lombardo, son of James and Barbara Lombardo of 35 Park Place, Saratoga Springs. Joseph has been a member of the Drama Club, Independent Filmmakers Club, Science Bowl Team, Ultimate Frisbee Club and the Varsity Tennis Team. He will attend Colgate University.

Tara Britton, daughter of Louis Britton of Saratoga Lake and Deborah Britton of 8 Leaward Way, Saratoga Springs. Tara has been a member of the National Honor Society and Student/Teacher Book Club. She will attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Monica Ginsberg, daughter of Roy and Kirsten Ginsberg of 36 Avery Street, Saratoga Springs. Monica has been a member of the National Honor Society, Sports Editor of the Yearbook and the Girls Varsity Swim Team. She will attend Skidmore College.

Lena Geraghty, daughter of Brendan and Susan Geraghty of 14 Carr Road, Saratoga Springs. Lena has been a member of the Independent Filmmakers Club, National Honor Society, Ski Club and the Girls Varsity Soccer Team.
