Saratoga Springs – Josiah Dominick Mazurkiewicz of Beekman Street passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 due to an accident. He was 8 years old and a third grade student at Division St. School.
Born May 6, 2000 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Ross Mazurkiewicz of Saratoga Springs and Holly Gibson of Ballston Spa. Josiah was a lively spirit and blessed all of those who knew him.
Josiah is predeceased by his grandfathers, William Gibson and Gary Mazurkiewicz.
In addition to his parents, Josiah is survived by his grandmother, Laura Wait “Nana” and Smitty Gayheart of Amsterdam; grandmother, Karen Mazurkiewicz “Grammy” of Saratoga Springs; grandmother, Micha Heck of Schenectady; great-grandparents Lew and Shirley Chadwick of Summerfield, NC and great-grandmother, Beverly Mazurkiewicz of Pittsfield, MA. Josiah has left behind many aunts, uncles and cousins but his memory and spirit will live forever.
Relatives and friends gathered on Wed. Sept. 24, 2008 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes in Saratoga Springs. Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Saratoga Springs with Pastor John G. Rice officiating.
