Ernest S. Cady

Gansevoort – Ernest S. Cady of Circle Dr., formerly of Longview, Texas, passed away Wed., Oct. 22, 2008 at Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, IN. He was 74.

Born June 24, 1934 in Batchellerville, NY he was the son of the late Stephen Ernest and Mina Shepard Cady. Ernest served in the US Air Force from 1953 to 1960 during which time he received the Good Conduct Medal. After moving to Gansevoort he was employed by the Children’s Museum of Saratoga. Ernest loved gardening and attending church service.

Survivors include his four children, Michelle (William) Owens of Leesburg, FL, Timothy (Colleen) Cady of South Glens Falls, James S. Cady and Daniel E. Cady both of Gansevoort; five grandchildren, Timothy and Nicholas Cady, Rachael Cunningham and Ian and Eric Owen.

Relatives and friends gathered on Monday, Oct. 27, 2008 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes in Saratoga Springs. A funeral service followed at the funeral home.

Burial with military honors followed at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road in Schuylerville.
