Stillwater – John Edward Schultz of County Road 67 in Stillwater died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008 at Saratoga Hospital. He was 78.
Born on June 16, 1930 in Stillwater, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph T. and Florence (Suchocki) Schultz. He is the husband of 53 years of Gertrude (Chubb) Schultz whom he married on Nov. 6, 1954 at St. Clement’s Church. He attended the Deans Corners Country School and St. Clement’s Catholic School. He was a heavy equipment operator and owner of the Schultz Farm.
In addition to his wife Gertrude, he is survived by his children; Deborah (Phillip) Becktoft of Stillwater, Sandra Donaldson of Middle Grove, Robin Schultz of Saratoga Lake, John (Lisa) Schultz of Stillwater, Lori Carman of Mulberry, FL , Christine Schultz of Stillwater, and Trudy (Gerald) Weatherwax of Saratoga Springs, grandson Steven Schultz of Stillwater, his siblings, Theresa Little of Mechanicville, Jean Mahalek of Greenfield, Rita Clark of Stillwater, Jay (Doris) Schultz of Stillwater and Robert (JoAnn) Schultz of Victory Mills, his brother-in-law, Clayton (Barbara) Chubb, Jr. of Saratoga Springs, as well as ten grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by his son, Michael Joseph Schultz and his siblings Ruth Bardwell, Helen Green, Betty Latham and Ann Richmond.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008 at the William J. Burke & Sons Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes in Saratoga Springs.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated immediately following at St. Clement’s Church in Saratoga Springs by the Rev. Neil Draves-Arpaia.
Burial followed in the family plot at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Hudson Avenue in Stillwater.
