This year, more than three dozen local restaurants and eateries will be offering special lunch and dinner menus with set prices from Friday, Dec. 5 through Thursday, Dec. 11.
Presented by the Saratoga Contention and Tourism Bureau, Restaurant Week will allow patrons to enjoy a three course meal at any of the participating businesses at the set price of $18.19 plus tax and tip for dinner and $9.09 plus tax and tip for lunch. The dinner price is symbolic of the year that Saratoga Springs was officially established by Saratoga County – 1819.
In celebration of this date and the culture of the city, Restaurant Week was created to give back to those who live in and have made Saratoga Springs the city that it is today.
New this year is the inclusion of the lunch menu, with five restaurants serving lunch only including Beverly’s Specialty Foods, D’Andrea’s Pizza, Esperanto, Karavalli Indian Cuisine and Liberty Bell Cheese Steaks.
“The inclusion of the lunch special gave some different restaurants the opportunity to become involved and participate in what is becoming a tremendously popular Saratoga event,” said David Zunker, President of the Saratoga Convention and Tourism Bureau. “The price is right to get out and try some different restaurants whether you are working, shopping or need an excuse to get together with a friend for lunch.”
Restaurants who are participating in the dinner special only include Bookmakers at the Holiday Inn, Brindisi’s Restaurant, Chianti II Ristorante, Doc’s Steakhouse, Fifty South, Forno Bistro, Fortunes, Great Bay Clam Company, Hattie’s Restaurant, Jonesville Store, Lillian’s Restaurant, Limoncello Ristorante, Longfellow Restaurant, Maestro’s Restaurant, Mare Restaurant, Mouzon House, One Caroline Street Bistro, Prime at Saratoga National Golf Course, Primo’s at the Inn at Saratoga, Sperry’s, Springwater Bistro, TIZNOW Restaurant and the Wishing Well Restaurant.
Those serving both lunch and dinner include Circus Café, Gaffney’s Restaurant, Grey Gelding Bistro, Olde Bryan Inn, Ravenous, Scallions Restaurant, Sushi Thai Garden Restaurant and Wheatfields Restaurant & Bar.
Patrons will be able to enjoy a pre-set three course meal (most restaurants have more than one choice for each course) including an appetizer or salad, a dinner entrée and a dessert.
For those who wish to turn their dinner engagement into an all night out, the Saratoga Downtowner is matching rates with the restaurants to offer an overnight special of $18.19 per person when the customers show their dinner receipt from one of the participating restaurants.
“This is a great opportunity for locals to get out and try the restaurants that they have always wanted to but didn’t think they could afford,” said Dawn Oesch, owner of The Candy Co. and president of the Downtown Business Association. “There are plenty of places to choose from and a night out won’t break the bank.”
