She was 60.
Born on March 21, 1948 in Bellville, IL, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Gladys Wiegers. Joyce spent 30 years as the Director of Nursing at the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia. She loved to cook and most of all to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Joyce touched, cared for and loved unconditionally. She allowed us all to choose our own path and was always there for anyone who needed a mother or a friend. She will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Edward Wiegers.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Panarese of Ballston Spa and one son, Chris Panarese and his wife Laura of Wilton; two grandchildren, Samantha and Jonathan Panarese also of Wilton; two sisters, Shirley Dunker of Missouri and Marilyn Brauer of Texas and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends gathered on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes in Saratoga Springs. Funeral services will be held this morning, Friday, Jan. 30, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 149 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs.
Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenridge Rd., Glenville, NY.
Donations may be made in Joyce's name to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Rd., Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
