She was 76.
Born on Nov. 21, 1932 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late George Robert Horsfield and Marion Andrews and attended Saratoga Springs city schools. She had worked as a switchboard operator at City Hall for several years and served as a poll monitor during city elections. She participated in art and craft shows and enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, George Gurtler; six children, Bernard and his wife Karen of Ballston Spa, Marjorie and her husband David Pastore of Pittsford, NY, John Gurtler and his companion Tracy Stewart of Rochester, NY, Kathleen and her husband Kevin Brower of Saratoga Springs, George Jr. and his wife Jo-Anne, of Porter Corners and Diane and her husband Chris Rich-ardson of Wilton; one half-brother, William and Emma Lou Andrews of Saratoga Springs; 16 grandchildren, Gerilyn, Michelle, Jason, Lisa, Brian, Christopher, Alexandra, Whitney, Trevor, Zachary, Kailee, Kelly, Jenny, R.J., Brittany and Christopher; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Eric, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call this afternoon, Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway in Saratoga Springs, followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m.
Burial will be in the spring at Greenridge Cemetery, Lincoln Avenue in Saratoga Springs.
