Glens Falls - Mary Edith Webster Wilsey entered Eternity on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Eden Park Nursing Home, with her son and his wife by her side.

She was born Feb. 26, 1910, in Schaghticoke to Myron and Nina (Sibley) Webster and lived for over sixty of her years at 16 Flandreaux Avenue in Glens Falls.

Mary graduated from the Mechanicville High School and also from Glens Falls School of Nursing.

Mary was predeceased by her brother, Harold Webster; two sisters, Juanita Ellis and June Dullaham; her granddaughter, Michelle Wilsey; and her son, Alan Wilsey.

She will be greatly missed by her son, Brian Wilsey and his wife, Phyllis, of Wilton; her daughter-in-law, Sandra Wilsey of Queensbury; her five surviving grandchildren: Lisa Walton and her husband, Thomas, of Queensbury, Dawn Britt of Wilton, Tracey Capozucca and her husband, Joseph, of South Glens Falls, Rachel Tribunella and her husband, Mario, of Scotia, and Jeffery Wilsey and his wife, Emily, of Vienna, Va. Mary is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and twelve great-grandchildren: Galen Britt; Matthew and David Walton, Madison and Jillian Capozucca, Roman, Cora, Isabel, Priscilla, and Judah Tribunella, and Lucas and Graham Wilsey.

The staff at Eden Park, now known as The Pines, says they, too, will greatly miss Mary. They loved and pampered her and took excellent care of her, and she came to love them also.

Her family is very grateful.

Mary was an excellent Registered Nurse, serving at Glens Falls Hospital and much sought after for private duty. She credited God for the ability to work and raise her two sons alone.

She retired in 1975, from Westmount County Infirmary and continued for many years a busy life of enjoying her family, pet cats, fellow members at Bay Road Presbyterian Church, Glens Falls Baptist Church, and Elder Share and neighbors. For many years she enjoyed sewing, hooking rugs, doing jigsaw puzzles, feeding and talking to the birds, listening to Paul Harvey, hanging out laundry, gardening, writing letters, baking and canning, watching for the first robin of spring, growing an amazing garden in her tiny back yard, listening for the first flock of geese in the fall, apple-picking, making Jesus' birthday cake and keeping the best supplied candy jar for all seasons!

Mary's favorite hymns were "How Great Thou Art," and "Because He Lives." Her favorite verse of Scripture, "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my Redeemer." (Psalm 19:14)

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to Cancer Research Institute, 55 Broadway, Suite 1802, New York, NY 10006.

Calling hours were held Saturday, Dec. 20, and Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St. in Queensbury.

A funeral service followed at the funeral home with the Rev. George McDearmon, pastor of Ballston Lake Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment followed the funeral at Pine View Cemetery, Quaker Road, Queensbury.
Condolences may be mailed to Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or e-mailed through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
