Adelbert E. Winchell, Jr.
Saratoga Springs - Adelbert E. Winchell, Jr., of Loughberry Mobile Home Park, went peacefully into the arms of the Lord after a short illness on Saturday, March 21, 2009. His loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Winchell, was at his side. He was 73.
Born on July 12, 1935 in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of Delbert E. and Yvette (Langlois) Winchell of Hudson Falls. He enjoyed the MOPAR muscle cars of the 1960's and 70's, was a devoted husband and avid race car fan. He was an all around repairman, enjoyed lending a hand to others, making people laugh and spending time with his family. He was employed for 33 years for Finch Pruyn and retired as foreman for the wood yard and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia (Semony) Winchell of Saratoga Springs; two daughters, Adella (Winchell) Riley of Glens Falls and Cheryl Plass of Hyde Park, NY; one brother-in-law, Edward Bushey, Sr. of Victory Mills; one sister-in-law, Carrie Blair of Nevada; one grandchild, several nieces, nephews and cousins and his best friend, Helen Kuentzel of Watervliet.
Relatives and friends gathered on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes of Saratoga Springs, followed by a funeral service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family wishes to thank all the staff of the I.C.U. at Saratoga Hospital for the excellent care he received, to his favorite barber and friend, Ted of Ballston Spa and Donna, Sandy, Mike and Ed for being with the family from the beginning.
