Gansevoort - Edmund J. Magee of Heritage Way passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at his residence. He was 79.
Born on Dec. 29, 1929 in New York City, he was the son of the late Owen
and Jane (Connley) Magee and worked as an engineer at Mt. McGregor in
Wilton for several years and later enjoyed working at Hannaford on
Route 50. He always supported the efforts of his grandchildren in
sports and plays and was a member of St. Clement's Church. He was also
a
US Air Force veteran following World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Delia (McManus) Magee; four children, Brian (Pam) Magee of Ballston Spa, Edmund (Patti) Magee of Katy, TX, Robert Magee of Saratoga Springs and Joann (Patrick) Sullivan of South Glens Falls; six grandchildren, Ethan, Chelsea, Patrick and Maggie Magee, Matthew and Lindsay Sullivan; two brothers, Bernard (Theresa) Magee of Cape May, NJ and Gerald (Ann) Magee of Forest Hills, Long Island and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday, May 11, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. and also from 6 to 8 p.m. at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2009 in St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Avenue in Saratoga Springs. Burial with military honors will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
Memorials may be made in his name to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
