Kenmore, NY - John E. Cantillon died at home on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 among family after a lengthy illness. He was 88.
Born in Buffalo in 1921, Mr. Cantillon graduated from Bennett High
School. He later enlisted in the National Guard, then served in the
U.S. Army during WWII. He received the American Defense Service Ribbon
and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon with one Bronze Star. He
returned to Buffalo and received a degree in accounting from Bryant and
Stratton College. Mr. Cantillon met his wife, Angeline Caronia and
they were married for 50 years until her death in 2005. His life's
passion was his relationships with his wife and six children. He
retired after 30 years of employment at the Chevrolet plant in
Tonawanda, NY. He resided in Saratoga Springs for 18 years after
retirement.
Mr. Cantillon is survived by his children Deborah Everett of Kenmore, Valerie (Dave) Anderson of Saratoga Springs, Susan (Greg) Cantillon-Cuda of Saratoga Springs, John M. Cantillon of Batavia, Sharon Cantillon of Buffalo and Patrick Cantillon of Saratoga Springs; his grandchildren, Jeremy (Nicole) Everett, Isaac (Mirna) Everett, Joshua Everett, Eileen Papero and Gina Papero and his great-grandchildren, Cameron Everett, Annabelle Everett, Jada
Everett and Elaina Everett.There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial
was celebrated on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Avenue in Saratoga Springs.
Burial with military honors followed at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
