Saratoga Springs - Rutherford W. Allen, Jr., 73, a resident of Northern
Pines Road, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Glens Falls
Hospital.
Born September 7, 1935 in Athol, Massachusetts, he was the son of Rutherford Allen, Sr. and Ellen Emmett Allen.
Mr. Allen had been employed by the Wise Insurance Company in Saratoga Springs.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Beverly Cooper Allen; brothers, Neil, Wayne, and Glen Allen; and sister, Beverly Ryzycky.
Survivors include his children, Melissa (Gerry Jr.) Linendoll of Gansevoort, Ellen (Michael) Nevins of Saratoga Springs, and Rutherford "Skip" (Leslie) Allen, III of Ballston Spa; 7 grandchildren, Rachel Roberts Allen, Jamie Nevins, Randee Allen, Ashley Nevins, Gerry Linendoll III, Bradley Linendoll, and Catelyn Linendoll; brothers, Richard, Leonard, Walter, Arthur, David, and James Allen; sisters, Margie Dufore, Sandy Harrington, Mildred Mallory and Donna Mack.
A graveside service was conducted on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Maplewood Cemetery in Saratoga Springs.
Friends gathered to remember Mr. Allen on Thursday at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Avenue in Schuylerville prior to the graveside service.
