If I could have a tourist meet one Saratoga person during their vacation here, this smiley woman is it!
For nearly two decades, Marti has been 'the answer' - an ambassador from the County Chamber of Commerce who never runs short of good will and information for visitors and residents alike.
During a recent visit I saw her in action:
For instance: "It's raining, where can we take the kids?" - BAM! Six brochures and a wealth of ideas...Whether answering the phone and getting the latest motel availabilities, chatting with locals who stop by for a visit and maybe an suggestion for lunch, or just saying "have a nice day" to people passing by, she has the unique gift of making everyone feel like the most important people in the world.
Her boss agrees. "Marti's enthusiasm for her job is her strongest asset as one of our staff members" notes Greg Dixon, Vice President, Tourism at the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, "Her love for Saratoga always shines through as she helps visitors find what they need during their trip."
When Marti is not working at the summer information booth, she is traveling throughout the country as an educational staff development specialist, participating in Adult Community Training one to three days a week, and she is also a local hospice volunteer.
It doesn't matter what the weather is like because in Marti's world it's always sunny! We'll miss her after Labor Day, and feel excited when we see her return in late May!
