It was quite a star-studded weekend for the National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame!
On Saturday Night, August 1st picture perfect weather provided the background for a perfect evening as the Museum presented a "Gala on Broadway" themed event. Broadway and silver screen legend Tommy Tune was the special guest of honor and entertainer for the evening.
The Gala raised over $100,000 for the Museum of Dance and hall of fame. Live auction items included a trip to L.A. to see the television show "Dancing with the Stars", A week in Spain, and a fabulous "girls night on the town".
The following evening was highlighted by the induction of Mr. Tune into the Dance Museum's Hall of Fame. A retrospective movie was screened detailing Mr. Tune's unique ability to enchant audiences over the past 50 years with his charisma, vision, and innovation.
At the end of a weekend like this, one becomes a little awestruck about the forces that were marshaled in totality to pull this off. Repeat: they raised over $100,000. So you know that that all the 'A-list'ers', and then some were in attendance. You know who you are.
And kudos to all of you! It's a pleasure to report story's like this in 2009.
