This super friendly superwoman is reflective of the good-natured vibe
that radiates from the staff of that oasis on Broadway (which descended
by way of Mexico) known as the Cantina Restaurant.
Kasie's a Mechanicville native who is behind the bar during the day on Saturdays through Tuesday, evenings Thursday and Friday.
In addition "I have my own florist business - VeroVerde designs - which provide arrangements for weddings, private parties and charity events such as the Canfield Casino's Mardi Gras in 2007, and a Valentine's Day event at the Ballston Spa schools last year."
In her free time, you'll find her on the soccer field each week or haunting the region's antique shops. "Anything dorky, for the most part, I enjoy."
Back on the job, the mixologist in her reigns supreme: "I really enjoy when somebody says 'make me something good' and I just get to play and be creative."
Her favorite places to unwind after a long day are "D.A.'s, 9 Maple and Max London's." but what might surprise even her regulars is that "I don't really drink!"
Kasie posesses encyclopedic abilities to relay the subtle nuances of all the Cantina's various brands of tequilas and hot sauces to the uninitiated, and she has that ace bartender's gift of remembering everyone's name and favorite beverage, and even when juggling a full bar plus a packed restaurant, manages to greet everyone with that signature winning smile.
This apparently is not her only terrific asset. Peter Pashoukos of the Tequila Mockingbirds, which is the regular Thursday music act at the Cantina, observes: "Kasie's bartending prowess is matched only by her uncanny quick wit and kind nature. In addition, her hair redefines the word lustrous."
