Lauren's a double crowd pleaser... when she's not dazzling thirsty fans
from behind the bar at Wheatfields (where it is getting super-crowded
for happy hours, especially on Fridays), she is wowing them on various
regional theater stages.
She has received thunderous applause (I have witnessed and participated) for her renditions of "Elaine" in The Graduate, "Shelby" in Steel Magnolias, "Ophelia" in the 15-minute Hamlet, etc.
But what we applaud Lauren for most is her consistent cheeriness whenever we see her at Wheatfields, or on 'our side' of the bar at some of the places she likes to go. Her warmth and friendliness is tinged with a minx-y sense of humor that will pop up to let you know there's a lot more here than the girly-girl that meets the eye.
Oh, the "Alice" costume was from a previous Halloween; this year our crack investigative team has it on good authority that we may be in for a blond "Cinderella" sighting somewhere along Caroline Street... just look for the long line of Prince Charming's scurrying after her, holding glass Christian Louboutin's or perhaps Manolo's... hopefully, they catch up to her before midnight.
We caught up to her on a Sunday Evening:

Customer from hell / goofy
customer story
I worked as a waitress at another
place; and this woman ordered
her Cobb salad with
EVERYTHING on the side. She
had a plate of lettuce and about
ten little plastic ramekins with
cucumbers, egg, bacon, and like 3
dressings...basically, she ordered
a salad bar!
Most Embarrassing moment at

When I was working in
Nantucket, 8
Navy guys
decided to
serenade me with
"You've lost that
lovin' feeling" -
like in "Top Gun."
