It was a long drive to Schoharie but the Saratoga Central Catholic
girls Varsity Volleyball team certainly pulled it off. Continuing their
winning streak, the Varsity girls won the match against the Schoharie
Indians in four sets.
The Saints clearly dominated the first two sets, winning by double digits. Whether it was pure exhaustion or bad luck, the Lady Saints lost the third match only to make a dramatic come back in the fourth set.
There was no one player that stood out this particular game only that the entire team played effortlessly towards their goal of winning the game.
Tuesday, October 13th the Saint's played the Schuylerville Black Horses, winning once again 3 out of 5 sets. Senior at Saratoga Central Catholic, Mollie Denier played a tremendously as Middle hitter, a change up from her usual position as outside hitter place. Denier managed to block 3 impressive spikes hit from the Lady Black Horses, knocking them right into open areas on the court. The Saint's goal is to continue their winning streak, and with Denier's help that might just be possible.
Thursday, October 22nd the Saint's will face their biggest rival, the Mayfield Panthers in the Saratoga Central Catholic gym in a benefit known as Coaches vs. Cancer. This charity event will benefit The American Cancer Association. In lieu of admissions charge, donations will be accepted. Proceeds will be donated in memory of all St. Peter's Academy Alumni/ Saratoga Central Catholic Alumni who lost their battle with cancer. A gift card will be purchased for former Mayfield volleyball player, Stacey Betler, who is currently battling cancer.
