The Saratoga Springs girls' cross country team won their 17th title within the past 21 years on November 21 at the New York State Federation Cross Country championship in Bowdoin Park. The Blue Streaks won first place with 63 points, followed by Shenendehowa with 67 points and Queensbury High School with 148 points.
Leading runners' 5K times: Keelin Hollowood (18:56.9), Madison Carr (19:02.33), Sydney King (19:07.9), Brianne Bellon (19:16.2), Amanda Boroughs (19:35.4), Brianne Freestone (19:39.7) and Cassandra Goutos (19:57.8).
The Blue Streaks are currently the number three team in the country. As the high school season comes to a close, the Saratoga Springs girls cross country team is headed to the New York Regional Qualifier for the Nike Team National Championship, which is Saturday, November 28 in Poughkeepsie, New York. Those who advance will go on to Portland Oregon for the Championship.
