Saratoga Springs - Genevieve Michaud of Jones Rd. passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 80.
The Saratoga Springs girls' cross country team won their 17th title within the past 21 years on November 21 at the New York State Federation Cross Country championship in Bowdoin Park. The Blue Streaks won first place with 63 points, followed by Shenendehowa with 67 points and Queensbury High School with 148 points. Leading runners' 5K times: Keelin Hollowood (18:56.9), Madison Carr (19:02.33), Sydney King (19:07.9), Brianne Bellon (19:16.2), Amanda Boroughs (19:35.4), Brianne Freestone (19:39.7) and Cassandra Goutos (19:57.8). The Blue Streaks are currently the number three team in the country. As the high school season comes to a close, the Saratoga Springs girls cross country team is headed to the New York Regional Qualifier for the Nike Team National Championship, which is Saturday, November 28 in Poughkeepsie, New York. Those who advance will go on to Portland Oregon for the Championship.
The Saratoga Springs City Council voted down a budget last night, but
because of the City Charter rules, the same budget in effect "passes"
and will take effect on January 1, 2010.

passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 at the Wesley Health Care Center,
Lawrence Street, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. She
was 85.

participated in the Seventh Annual Northeast Regional Dairy Challenge,
a local division of the North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge,
which took place on November 5 through 7.
In an effort to reduce the pressure on struggling dairy farmers,
Schumer called on the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade
Commission to take a hard look at the dairy industry and identify where
the problems exist. In response to Schumer's urging, the nation's top
antitrust official will be coming to New York State to meet with dairy
farmers and consumers to explore this problem.

the last two weeks as a student at the Northeast Regional Training
Center of Canine Companions for Independence (CCI).

The last time Colin Smith came to Saratoga Springs, he was the lead
singer/guitarist of the alt rock/new wave band "MRNORTH," which enjoyed
a great run and opened for Journey at SPAC. MRNORTH played the large

cancer for a year. He was 71.

Greenwich - Emma Sisson Mulligan, 83, a longtime resident of Greenwich,
died Monday, November 9, 2009 at the Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa.
Saratoga Springs - Dell Norman Thompson of County Route 68, passed away
on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at his residence. He was 68.
