Saratoga Springs - Judith Palmero passed away on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009.
Born on Oct. 1, 1944, in Blackpool, England, she was a Foreign Language teacher for over thirty years. Judith taught in New York City and then for over a decade at Corinth High School. Judith had great enthusiasm for teaching, as well as traveling. She had a love of literature and was an avid reader. Besides these pursuits, she took great pleasure in writing beautiful, personal notes to friends and family, and corresponded regularly with her large circle of friends. Because of her extraordinarily generous spirit, her greatest pleasure was in giving to those she loved, and putting their needs above her own. Most important to Judith, though, was her family and those close friends whom she held dear. Throughout her later years, Judith endured many serious surgeries and illnesses. Her optimism and strength of spirit, however, allowed her to remain positive, and to be an inspiration to others.
Judith's family would like to thank the staff of Saratoga Hospital and Albany Medical Center for their care and compassion. She is survived by her parents, Anthony and Veronica Palmero, her sister, Diane Poma, and Judith's niece and nephew, Alexandra Lombardoni (nee Poma), and Michael Poma. She will be missed most, though, by her sister, companion, and best friend, Lisa Palmero.
In lieu of flowers, Judith's family requests that those wishing to make a donation to please do so to the Arthritis Foundation, 1717 Central Ave., Suite 105, or the American Diabetes Foundation, 7 Washington Square, both in Albany, NY 12205.
Friends gathered on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes in Saratoga Springs.
Funeral services were conducted after the visitation at Burke's Funeral Home, by Rev. Father Neil Draves-Arpaia.
