Home Made Theater continues their 25th season with Ira Levin's
Deathtrap at the Spa Little Theater in the Saratoga Spa State Park.
Deathtrap is Broadway's longest running comedy-thriller. The show runs on weekends February 12 through February 28.
Sidney Bruhl, a famous writer of Broadway thrillers, is struggling to overcome writers' block. After his last few productions flop in the box office, he becomes desperate. A possible change in his fortunes occurs when he receives a script from Clifford, one of his writing students -- a thriller with lots of potential. Sidney decides to steal it and kill Clifford. Intrigue after intrigue, the suspense mounts steadily as the plot begins to twist and turn with devilish cleverness. An abundance of surprises and thrills will hold you enthralled until the final, startling moments of the play.
The director and sound designer of Deathtrap is Terry Rabine who has directed numerous HMT productions including The Real Inspector Hound, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Lion in Winter, Macbeth, The Nerd, Corpse!, Marvin's Room, Eastern Standard, Lend Me a Tenor and The Diviners.
The cast of Deathtrap includes Monica Cangero as Myra Bruhl, Aaron Holbritter as Sidney Bruhl, Ian LaChance as Clifford Anderson, Lizette Orozco as Helga ten Dorp, and Rick Wissler as Porter Milgrim. The artistic team for Deathtrap includes assistant director Christine O'Connell, scenic designer Vaughn Patterson, properties designer Mary Fran Hughes, lighting designer Kyle VanSandt and costume designer Dianne O'Neill Filer.
Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:15 p.m. from February 12 through 27. Matinees are on Sundays at 2 p.m. on February 21 and 28. Ticket prices are $21 and $24.
