Remember the worst trouble you ever got in? Or your favorite toy? The
time your dog ran away or when your best friend suddenly wasn't your
best friend anymore? Memories, whether good, bad or painful make us who
we are.
Flying Kite Children's Theatre, the resident theatre of The Saratoga County Arts Council will present its upcoming production "Rememberin' Stuff." Just in time for Valentine's Day, this production is a perfect way to celebrate with the whole family. The show is heartfelt, funny and inspiring.
When a group of high school drama students is given the assignment to share their memories, the result is an eclectic collection of hilarious, heart-felt, serious, intense and inspiring scenes. An improbable first crush...selling Girl Scout cookies...taking your driver's test...even learning the art of baseball. The audience is encouraged to explore their own memories sparked by these creative vignettes. One highlight to look for is when the cast performs a rhythmic 'Stomp' number that brings the stage to life.
"Rememberin' Stuff" has a cast of 25 aspiring local actors ages 7 to16 and is led under the direction of Co-Artistic Directors Michelle Summerlin-Yergan and Kate Pitney-Gaba. The production also includes 7 students who participated behind the scenes in Flying Kite's 'Junior Production Team Workshop' where they helped create and design scenery, props, costumes and sound for this production led by Ms. Gaba, who has a special mission to give students hands-on experience with the production components that take place behind the scenes!
Performances take place at the Dee Sarno Theatre located at The Arts Center, 320 Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
This production is part of Flying Kite Children's Theatre's ongoing mission to introduce children to the performing arts through professional theatre productions that appeal to children, parents and educators alike. It is Flying Kite's belief that all children in the Saratoga area should also have the opportunity to attend theatre productions that instill a life-long love of theatre and build a future audience for the arts in our community!
