Construction for GlobalFoundries officially began on July 24 and five months later things are moving along as planned.

Come the spring of 2009, AMD and ATIC are planning to break ground at the Luther Forest Technology Campus, bringing their multi-billion dollar project known as The Foundry Company to the small town of Malta, New York.

With the construction of a $4.6 billion Fab 4X semiconductor manufacturing facility in Malta, there is no doubt that Saratoga County's economy will benefit from The Foundry Company's presence.
