This week we’ve got some opportunities to learn about women’s health and parenting a daughter with autism, a Spring Fling for a great organization, a night for all the Papatogians out there and some wood fired pizza and wine!
1. On Tuesday, May 22nd head to the Halfmoon Public Library to talk to local women about Women’s Health. From 6:30 to 8pm, the discussion will have an emphasis on identifying women’s health concerns such as PMS, menopause, overall health and wellness, bone health and heart health. 2. On Wednesday, May 23rd the Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council will have their 23rd Annual May Day Spring Fling dinner and auction at the Canfield Casino in Saratoga Springs from 5-9pm. This fun evening includes a seated dinner and complimentary drinks provided by Longfellows Restaurant, Hotel and Conference Center and The Olde Bryan Inn, as well as silent and live auctions. This is the major fundraising event for the Saratoga County EOC. EOC is a not for profit organization that has helped low income residents of Saratoga County since 1973. Reservations are $80 per person. Reservations for the event are limited and the event has sold out the past couple of years. 3. Author Eileen Riley-Hall will be at East Line Books to sign copies of her new book, “Parenting Girls on the Autism Spectrum” on Thursday, May 24th from 4-6pm.
This book is a celebration of all the wonderful and unexpected gifts that having a daughter on the autism spectrum can bring to a family. Each chapter offers encouragement and guidance on issues such as school, friendships, meltdowns, special gifts, family relationships, therapies and interventions.
