Missed out on The Nutcracker? Here’s another chance! Plus the Saratoga Santa AND the Grinch, a fab holiday concert, the Wizard of Oz and a great chance for the kids to have fun while you do some last minute shopping!
1. Take the whole family to see The Wizard of Oz at the Home Made Theater, dramatized from the story of L. Frank Baum. After a strange tornado hits her farm in Kansas, Dorothy finds herself over the rainbow in the land of the Munchkins. She must journey to see the Wizard of Oz in hopes of finding her way back home, but is told to stay away from the Wicked Witch of the West. Her path takes her to fantastic places, meeting endearing friends – the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Lion – along the way. Performances take place: Dec.14th – 7:30 p.m., Dec.16th – 1:00 p.m. and Dec. 15th – 1:00 p.m. & 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $18 Adults and $12 Children (age 12 & under) Call (518) 587-4427 for tickets.
2. Miss out on tickets for the Saratoga City Ballet presentation of “The Nutcracker”? For those still wanting to experience the show check out the Nutcracker Open Dress Rehearsal on Thursday, December 13 at 6pm. They will be opening dress rehearsal to the public for a reduced price. All seats are general admission. Tickets are first come first served. This is a working rehearsal and there may be stops and starts in the program. A professional photographer will also be in and around the audience. Audience photography is strictly prohibited. Tickets (sold at door only): $10 CASH ONLY. Box office opens at 5:15 pm.
3. Do you need more time to finish shopping or wrapping presents before the holidays arrive? Feel free to bring your school-aged kids for a film, craft, & snack on Friday, December 14th at the Wilton Wildlife: Fun Nature Film, Craft, and Snack Activity from 6-8:30pm! Minimum registration for this program is 5 children and the maximum is 20 children. Preregistration is required for all events at least one business day in advance of the actual event. 4. See the Grinch AND Santa on Saturday! First up check out the Walgreens photo event with The Grinch from 11am to 2pm on Saturday at the Walgreens on Route 50 where they will be hosting their annual photoshoot with the Grinch. You’ll receive a free 4×6 photos with The Grinch and there will be milk and cookies, a coloring contest and other prizes! Call 580-8850 for more details.
Also on Saturday, The Saratoga Santa is back at The Winery! From 10:45am to 12:45pm get your picture taken with the Saratoga Santa! 5. On Sunday, December 16th check out the Winter Classical Concert Series from 3-4:30pm at the Arthur Zankel Music Center Skidmore College.
