While the holiday shopping season constantly bombards us with advertisements and big store sales, more and more shoppers have begun to buy locally and simplify their holiday experience. In turn, the local shopping trend has reinforced the importance of local giving.
There are two types of Holiday shoppers: those who love the gift-buying rush, plan out their shopping in advance, and relish the thrill of a good deal. Then there's the rest of us, wandering through stores with a Scrooge-like attitude, uninspired list, and tight budget.

That's why Saratoga.com rounded up their huge giveaway of $1,500 in gift certificates to Saratoga restaurants, stores, and spas!

Saratoga Scare Fair is a 8,000-square-foot indoor haunted house open during the Halloween season at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds.

In last year's polls, Saratoga Springs was named one of the top 10 small cities by ABC, with the fifth best Fourth of July celebrations. Saratoga is no stranger to these "best" lists, but this is certainly an honor. A unique event that helped the Spa City climb that list was a four mile road race named the Firecracker 4

dba-gift-card.jpgStill looking for a last minute Saratoga holiday gift or some extra stocking stuffers? You can put the shopping bags down because a gift that everyone can enjoy is a Saratoga Springs Downtown Gift Card.  These gift cards can be used at any participating business that is a member of the Downtown Business Association (DBA).

You can purchase a DBA gift card at the Adirondack Trust Company and all of its branches. The gift cards can be used at over 120 participating Downtown Business Association member businesses in Saratoga Springs!

The DBA is using a gift card instead of the paper gift certificates used the previous 20 years. The paper gift certificates are still being accepted at participating Saratoga businesses. New gift cards are available in increments of $5 with a minimum value of $10 and a maximum value of $500.

The gift cards make a great gift for your family, friends clients, teachers, coaches, or anyone else you're buying for.

Halloween is a fun time of the year for everyone, but sometimes it can get a little too spooky for the little ones. Ellms Family Farm offers a Halloween Hayride that totally kid-friendly and Saratoga.com is giving away a 4 pack of tickets each Thursday until Oct 25!

Before you decide to throw away your old Halloween costumes, donate them to the families served by Franklin Community Center in Saratoga Springs NY. The price of a Halloween costume can make the holiday a tough time for some families in need, but you can make a difference this year by donating your costumes.
