Winter storm Stella is here, and she’s packing quite the punch. The National Weather Service advises that Saratoga Springs will be under a Blizzard Warning through Wednesday, March 15 at 4 am.
18-24 inches of snow are expected to fall at a rate of 2-4 inches per hour with wind gusts causing poor visibility throughout the region.
In response to heavy snow fall and potentially strong winds, Mayor Yepsen has declared a State of Emergency for the City of Saratoga Springs. All non-essential city employees have been asked to stay home for the day and the mayor is asking residents and visitors to limit travel on city roads for safety reasons and to allow the Department of Public Works to do snow removal.
Many restaurants and businesses downtown are also closed. Before you head out, be sure to check Facebook to call to see if your destination is open during the storm. Unless you have to be out and about, we recommend cuddling up with a blanket, a good book, and a cup of tea or hot cocoa to enjoy this late winter storm!
